What to do when you see someone fall

Sudden fall due to heart problem is no longer a rare event. At anytime or place, you may see some who suddenly fall to the ground. They can be anyone very closed to you such as your grandparent or someone you never know before.

It can be a life saving maneuver to learn if there is no doctor around at that time. CPR is a technique to rescue those type of victims that any body can learn in a very short time. Watch the video below to see how to perform CPR step by step correctly:

Stray dog bite: Rabies

Stray dogs are very common in some parts of the world especially in the developing countries. Not all the stray dogs are dangerous, however, it is always be safe to be away from them. One of the reasons is that, you never know whether the dog is sick or not. Dog bite is hurt, of course, but it can be life danger if the dog that bite you is infected with rabies virus. Acute Diarrhea

Acute diarrhea is the second leading cause of death in children under five. The majority of deaths occur in developing countries where resources are limited. Even though, the disease is easy to be treated and prevented, lack of clean water, poor hygiene in the under-developed world make it difficult to reduce the mortality and morbidity. Most cases of acute diarrhea are caused by virus which is usually self-limited. However, some cases antibiotic is needed especially when the child is passing stool with mucus or blood. Major complications of acute diarrhea are: Dehydration Electrolytes imbalance Failure to recognize and treat these two complications properly, mortality rate is high. On the other hand, promptly correct dehydration and electrolytes imbalance, death is uncommon. Children who can tolerate with oral re-hydration, can be safely treated at home but need to be re-evaluate by doctor if diarrhea persist. Recent Bird flu (H5N1) in Cambodia

In January 2013, there were 5 new cases of highly contagious infection of Avian influenza (H5N1) virus occurred in Cambodia. Four of the five died, only one survived experiencing only mild symptoms. There were no evidence of human to human transmission and four of the cases are known to have closed contact with sick/dead poultry. All cases happen in 4 different provinces and including Phnom Penh (the capital of Cambodia), and three other provinces. This serious disease attacks the patient of both sexes and in various age group ranging from the 8 months old to 35 years old. In February, there are another four more cases reported of being infected with H5N1 from different provinces. The las case is the ninth person in 2013 who was diagnosed with H5N1 influenza on 23rd February 2013 by Institut Pasteur du Cambodge. The patient is a 35-year-old man from Kampong Cham Province.
